It’s my stop for the Back To School Capsule Tour. Now for those of you that know me or actually read my bio know I homeschool my two kiddos. I don’t need to do much “back to school” shopping for them, especially my twelve year old boy! My daughter on the other hand is a fashion diva, and you better believe she will get dressed for “school time”. I took this opportunity as an excuse to sew her up a mini fall wardrobe.
My daughter likes to wear skirts and dresses. We have several ready to wear leggings so I decided to make her a few tops and dresses. It’s still very warm here in Northern California so we are still wearing short sleeves or sleeveless with cardigans in the early mornings and evenings. The Aster Cardigan by Willow & Co was such an easy and quick sew, it’s also my daughters new piece of clothing. She wears it with everything!
I made the cardigan to go with these adorable Poppy’s Peplum Pants , but it goes nicely with just about everything according to my daughter!
The colors are a really good match, regardless of what my pictures displays!
Lets move onto the dresses. The Limon Dress and Top again by Willow and Co is a wonderful easy pattern. This was my first time sewing anything by this designer and I’m super happy with her patterns. They were easy to follow and very fast to sew. This dress is lined and has enclosed seams! I’m really into closed seams lately and sometimes they take a little longer but not the case here. Such a fantastic pattern designer! Now I made this little lovely while my daughter was asleep so no trying on as I go. It ended up being a tad too bid for her so we will have to save it for a few months until she grows into it. I did modify it a bit by making a large pleat rather than the pintucks in the pattern. My daughter had picked out a dress with a large pleat in the middle and this was a great dress pattern to do this.
Lil Luxe Collection is another one of my favorite pattern designers. Her designs are so modern and easy to follow. This Metropolitan Dress is so cute and different!
My last two dresses were also from Lil Luxe Collection. These were actually part of my last blog tour and you can read more about them here.
I made a few tops to go with some of my daughters ready to wear leggings and skirts. First up is the Gallery Dress by Boo! Designs.
I added a front panel down the middle with some pom pom details.
I just love these oversized buttons! Courtesy of Bethany Lane.
How cute is this owl (well we think it’s an owl). More about this top here.
And last the Izzy Top by Climbing The Willow.
This top is part of a knock off post I will be posting more about later!
So there you have it. My version of the Back To School (fall wardrobe) Time Capsule. I had so much more in mind to sew up for this tour, but life happened and I just couldn’t crank them out! So far my daughters happy she has some new threads and I’m happy I was part of this tour!
Now it’s time for you to enter the fun giveaway!
Till next time!
