Last week I shared a dress I made with the Cricket pattern from Brownie -Goose. She had a sew along and contest. There were some amazing versions of this dress. I just love to see what everyone can do to make the pattern unique.
April the Designer of this awesome pattern and Blogger at Brownie-Goose hosted the sew along. She walks you through adding an elastic waist band. I didn’t use this feature on my two creations but I will for sure the next time.
This time I decided to make a tunic. My little princess doesn’t like to wear leggings and prefers dresses. The weather is still nice here in Northern Cali so we can still get away with shorts or dresses.
I dropped the neckline a tad to be sure the lace wouldn’t brush up against her neck. I tried to pick a soft lace but you know how finicky kids can be. I had some sheer black fabric for another project but it seemed fitting for this one too.
A little bit of lace to the arm band. I flipped the lace to go back, again so it wouldn’t bother her skin. It did still flop forward but didn’t seem to bother her much. The wrist band is done in a black knit.
The shorts were made with all knit. Love them! They were a super fast sew. I added a little trim to match the frames around the witches on the fabric.
I made this outfit for my Princess to wear to Apple Hill over the weekend. Nana and Grandpa take the kids to High Hill Ranch every year.
Every year they pay about $90 to catch as many fish from their pond. They usually come home with about 4-5 fish. I know thats a LOT for a few fish, but this is they only place they have EVER caught anything.
Last summer my mom picked my son up every Saturday (at the crack of dawn)for almost a month take him fishing. They had free fishing (adults didn’t have to have a fishing license) for the month. They never caught anything! Nada, nothing, not even a nibble. My son was bored after 30 minutes!
For some reason this year they replaced the fish they usually use with catfish. I’m not sure what the difference is..I’m not a fishing kinda gal…Well they didn’t catch anything! Poor kids. They did bring home gigantic pumpkins though! Cool now I don’t have to buy any…haha
While the kids were away I finished up a pattern I was lucky enough to test. It is perfect timing as I needed it to complete Princesses Halloween costume.
Will share next time!
