It’s been a very long time.
I don’t think anybody noticed.
So I’ll carry on where I left off…
With all the pattern testing and Pattern Revolution projects I completed over the summer you would think my daughter would have a pretty amazing wardrobe. The truth is she doesn’t, and she is in dire need of clothing! She has developed a strong interest in what she wears and is very particular now. In the past I could make just about anything and she was happy to sport it. Not anymore.
My challenge for the next couple of months is to fill my her closet with her choice of mamma made fall clothing. I’m lucky she still likes me to make her clothes so I’ll just have to work more closely with her when choosing patterns and fabrics.
Lil Luxe Sew ‘n Style tour came up just in time for us, as Lil Luxe Collections fits my daughters style perfectly. For our mini collection my daughter’s first choice was the Alley Cat dress. This was no surprise to me her choice in fabric is always soft knits. One of her favorite dresses is the Charming Tee Dress. I’ve made a few Alley Cat rompers for her but we wanted to try the dress version this time.
Summer weather is coming to an end, but here in Northern CA we still have a good few weeks to enjoy the season. This dress will be perfect for the hot days we still have but when it becomes cooler a light sweater will work just fine.
Next up we have the Starlight City Dress.
I’m so happy she chose this pattern. I’ve had it for a while and this was the first time I’ve sewed it. I’m in love with this pattern. It was so simple yet has such a unique look to it. I did add a middle panel with pompoms but it’s not a hard modification at all.
Last look for our mini collection is the City Girl swing top. I just picked up this fabric at our local fabric store Saturday morning. I crossed my fingers that my daughter would like it. She doesn’t usually like what I pick..but I couldn’t help it. What kiddo wouldn’t love this little guy.
Win! She loved it. Couldn’t figure out what exactly it is but we’ll go with owl?
Double win! She loved the fabric and loved the swing top.
That wraps up our mini collection for this tour, but it’s just the beginning tothe fall collection for my daughter. I hope you will stay tuned as I build my daughters wardrobe. I have many more looks coming up and some great deals on patterns.
